NAVMAN Vehicle Tracking FAQ's

Below are answers to some of the most common questions asked about vehicle tracking by our customers.

Is it difficult to use the vehicle tracking system?

No, it is a very easy to use software package and VTS will conduct a free training session once the vehicle tracking units are installed. Any further questions can be answered at any time by the vehicle tracking technical support team at Navman Wireless.

What are the installation costs for vehicle tracking?

Vehicle tracking installation is free and can be done over several visits, if you have difficulty getting all of your vehicles off the road at once. There may be a small fee if installations are required on a Sunday.

How many computers can I have the vehicle tracking/mapping software on?

As many as you want. You can install the free vehicle tracking software directly from the VTS website onto as many computers as you wish at no additional cost.

Is the price really fixed or are there hidden extras?

One of the reasons VTS provide Navman Wireless vehicle tracking systems is because it is a top quality product supplied at a low, fixed price. The only time the price would vary is if you want a vehicle tracked outside of the UK, at which point the price would need to be adjusted. There is also a £50 one-off charge for setting up the lease. Vehicles can be polled by customer staff as often as they want with no additional charges. So, in almost all cases yes, the price is fixed.

Will the vehicle tracking installation require permanent alterations to the vehicle?

The Qube is the most common of our vehicle tracking system hardware and is predominantly installed in cars and vans. The Qube installation will not require any damage to the body of the vehicle and the antenna is held in the tax disc holder on the windscreen.

Will my employees leave if I implement vehicle tracking?

This is a common concern and one of significance to many businesses. VTS have experience in how to handle employee objections and can assist in several ways that would be discussed in initial meetings. Most importantly, drivers are usually only concerned because they have something to hide, which is probably costing your business money. Your best employees are likely to welcome the new system as a chance to gain recognition for the effort they put into their job, and in many cases are as unhappy as the employer that some people seem to work a lot less and take home the same income. If people are doing an honest days work for an honest days pay, then they have nothing to be concerned about.

Technology is moving so fast. If I install a vehicle tracking system will it soon be out of date?

We are already at the forefront in offering benefit rich, low fixed price vehicle tracking technology. As part of their contractual agreement our Navman Wireless customers receive system continual enhancements and upgrades without charge. In addition to this they also receive free telephone and email support as well as warranty on Navman vehicle tracking hardware.
